WK 7 CAMERA USE LOW KEY LIGHTING
Low Key Lighting
A low-key image is one that contains predominantly dark tones and colours. Like high-key images, they convey atmosphere and mood. But where a high-key image feels airy and light, a low-key is usually dramatic and full of mystery.A typical low-key lighting setup consists of one large light.Low key is of course the opposite. This creates deep shadows around all forms and structures of the subject, throwing it all into sharp relief. It's moody, sometimes gritty look and can often be used in conjunction with Rembrandt lighting, forming the triangle of light under the shaded eye.

This is an example of low-key lighting, low-key lighting helps to minimize distractions in your frame, so it really helps to guide your audiences eyes where you want them to be.Using the fill light to capture this. This image is soft in which Temas eyes are not really in focus.Theres more shadows on her right side. The images used in low key lighting was taken by Mata.

In this image we used a beauty dish with a honeycomb grid fitted. The honeycomb grid concentrates the light into a smaller area, making the light harder and can also prevent flare when used because the spread of the light is restricted. Tema has more light on her face because of the position she was standing, she was standing next to the fill light while my face has more shadow and on my left side it is completely underexposed.Using camera raw to increased the highlights and blacks.

Changing our positions i have more light on my face and Tema is underexposed on the left side of her face.

I think Low-key lighting is easy to analyse just look into the subject’s eyes and you will know which lights were used.It makes the subject more mysterious and interesting.I actually would prefer to use this lighting in the future.
