WK 6 Richard Avedon diptych exercise

Below are the following steps to create an emulated Richard Avedon diptych image

In photoshop we created a new canvas:
File-new-create an A3 sized canvas with a resolution of 300pixels/inch
colour profile: Adobe RGB (1998)
Rotate so that it is a landscape orientation
Image-Rotate-90 degree clockwise

Open both of the photographs into photoshop
Using the MOVE tool to pull each of the photographs onto the new canvas.
Using the transform tool(edit -transform or command t) to resize the photo to fit onto the canvas using shift key to keep the images quality.Hit the return key when done resizing.
Using the same process for the other image.
Theirs two images on the canvas.Changing the background to black.
Edit-fill-contents-black
Saved as PSD
file-save as -format=photoshop
now flatten the image and save as a TIFF
layer-flatten layer
Save as a TIFF
File-save as-format=TIFF.
Saved as JPEG for the blog.

using the same process to emulate Richard Avedon diptych image i used my images,The first image with Mata holding a book to her face on the first one and the next one you can see her face, the second one is a teapot i used camera raw to crop one image into two and in photoshop i left a gap to see the difference.I did not change the background to black i left it white theres a slight blur on the teapot because of camera shake i was shooting with a slow shutter speed and i didnt use a tripod.

  1. Nice work Pearllisa! These are all successful diptych's and you have done a good job choosing the images for these pairings. Was the blur in the photo of the teapot intentional? If it was can you comment on your thinking in the creating of this photograph?
