WK4 Portfolio Reshoot of previous work

Below are some of the images i had to reshoot.Experimenting with lights, materials pose and various techniques for my portfolio. The concept of this photo shoot was to be eco friendly using recycled products but coordinating harmoniously with my ideas. Eco-friendly literally means earth-friendly or not harmful to the environment. The one thing that isn’t debatable is that eco-fashion is certainly more environmentally and planet-friendly than normal fashion. My work is about using recycled materials to create the process of converting waste materials into reusable objects to prevent waste and the best place to start making a difference is right in your own home. But in my case i want to execute these recycle products with a fashion shoot.Which is why i chose my theme for my portfolio 'Conceptual Recycled fashion'.Most of my images are portraits and full body shots, staged because i have thoroughly focused on what the model is wearing the background and lighting.
For techniques the main light was placed on the right side because i wanted dark rim lighting for this shoot this was done in the sitting room,i actually like the grunginess of the black material i think it goes well with the outfit and idea for this photoshoot the mashed jacket and garbage bag as a skirt which is the main focus here.I like how the model and the outfit does not get lost with the dark background which did happen with my previous photoshoot.
Materials:Black cloth as background,2 garbage bags as a skirt,mesh jacket,cassette,brown shirt
Techniques:main light,7D camera,EF24-105mm f/4L IS USM lens

i then placed the model to sit infront of a white wall i placed the light to the right side you can see shadows on the leftside. It is important to have a destination in mind for the viewer's eye when i composed and light the photographs. I like the white background more because the black outfit compliments with the white wall.

                                                              FINAL IMAGE 4

I chose this image for my portfolio because i really like how the details really came into tune than comparing the outcome with my first shoot using the same outfit i like how the white background really mutes everything else and just focusing on the outfit. This was staged even the pose i totld the model to play around with the hood. The model is sitting on the floor leaning next to a white background and flash placed on the right you can see shadows on the left arm.I like this in black and white because it has some portion of the photo that is near to pure white, and some portion of the photo that is near black. This increased contrast adds interest to the scene. This really goes well with my theme with the garbage bag and in saying this 'Reduce, reuse and recycle waste' should be an important part of any big or small business venture.

                                                                 FINAL IMAGE 5

This image had quiet the votes with the class because of the pose when i asked the model to place his hands on the wall it was just a random act i was only playing around with the poses and when i viewed this on the computer it really turned out well the details was still there and it was sharp and focused.I will be using this image for my portfolio in black and white with my previous FINAL IMAGE 6 i think these two absolutely pairs nicely together.i cropped the right side of the image just to remove unwanted scenes etc im really glad this series turned out well.

below i changed the models pose to a warrior stance giving out more attitude which is quite intimidating but clearly showcasing the garbage bag like skirt.

The images below pulled the chain perforated brown plastic from the cassette and placed on the models head which was similar to what i did with the previous photoshoot but this time covering the face and leaving little detail of the face and i also placed the cassette like a necklace as you can see below.I want my images to create mystery and intrigue the viewers because mystery is a wonderful way of leaving people wondering but keeping in mind the materials used and my theme in bold.

                                                           FINAL IMAGE 6
This image was chosen because his face is covered more with the cassette shot in portrait size this was one of my strongest image for my portfolio because the background was plain just focusing on the model, his face slightly showing but the main factor was his eyes are closed leaving mystery to the image.I want to intrigue the viewers, particularly drawn onto the subject whether his showing some kind of emotion with his eyes closed or whether the items on his face is the only factor or importance on this image.

I changed the background below to play around with the colour palette as seen below the blue with rusty colours on the background coordinates with the brown shirt while at the same time contrasting with the color and tone of the face. The background light created contrast with the face providing good contrast and separation.

                                                               FINAL IMAGE 7
This image i placed aluminium foil on the subjects head covering the eyes and created a bow out of newspaper and used a foil in the centre.Using a plain background the subject is placed in the centre of the frame this was shot in a portrait form i removed the door knob and brightened the image in camera raw and photoshop for my final edit.I really challenged myself for this series because their was alot of imagination and countless trial and error being carried out. This was my only chance to use the strobe lights i borrowed from school because it was fully booked the following week so this series really pushed me to create something thats conceptual but relayed to my theme.
