As researched online TOMAAS created this series of photos theme was Plastic Fantastic. The model was staged with various plastic items such as straws, tubing, platters, and bottles, outfits and accessories only using disposable plastic props. These items could be found at home which also relates to my portfolio about recycling turning something old into something new. The striking contrast of the black background with the cool lighting creates an edgy, dream-like element.
Sam Hurd Photography provides Wedding Photography in District Of Columbia - Washington DC, Maryland, Northern Virginia, and surrounding areas. He shot to fame in part due to his Epic Portraits series, where he had the opportunity to shoot big name stars (George Clooney, Denzel Washington etc). Sam used various complicated techniques to produce some awesome photos. Initially I was attracted to his work due to his willingness (and daring) to try something new, even when he often had only a few minutes with these super stars. He's dubbed the method "prisming", and involves holding a long, thin, triangular prism up to a prime lens in order to control diffraction, and cause some pretty spectacular effects.Which is similar to what im planning to do for my portfolio. When i view Sam hurds images it makes me try and think outside of the box to recreate, which is something i will keep in mind to challenge myself and think of different techniques for my portfolio.I also like the mirroring from the prism.
